60 Days Breathing Space for qualifying Debtors from 4th May 2021
January 12, 2021
Category: News
A scheme, outlined by the Government in February 2020, offering a breathing space period for people in problem debt and those in mental health crisis treatment is set to launch this Summer.
During the breathing space period, debtors who qualify will see interest, fees and enforcement action freeze for 60 days – in which they will receive professional debt advice.
This freeze can only be accessed once in a 12-month period for debtors, however, there is no limit on this for people receiving mental health crisis treatment.
At Andrew Wilson, our team will work closely with our clients to ensure you’re aware of any enforcement changes to your case.
If you have any questions regarding this upcoming change, please get in touch on 0161 925 1800.
