We are delighted to share that Shannon O'Neill, our Credit Control and Banking Executive, has passed her Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 4 qualification.
Shannon, who has worked for Wilson & Roe for almost two years, began studying for this qualification during the first national lockdown. This was particularly tough as she was also working full time for a charity.
"I was going to work all day and then revising until midnight, which was challenging" explains Shannon. "The course was self-taught and I funded it myself, which gave me the motivation I needed."
Since qualifying, Shannon has been dividing her time between her role as Credit Control and Banking Executive and working with Wilson & Roe’s finance team, where she has the opportunity to continue learning and put her number-crunching skills into practice.
However, the hard work doesn’t end here for Shannon, as she plans to begin a four-year course that will see her qualify as a Chartered Accountant.
She says, "I'm really proud of what I have achieved and that I have done everything off my own bat. AAT Level 4 was very challenging but definitely worth it, and it has given me the foundation to segue into chartered accountancy."
Shannon's determination and drive, alongside the support of Wilson & Roe, mean she is sure to have a long and successful career ahead of her.
