At Wilson & Roe, we do whatever it takes to get the best results for the client – even if that means a last-minute change of plans…
Friday night signals the start of the weekend and for many people this is a time for relaxation, hobbies, socialising, and spending time with friends and family.
So, when the enforcement team received an urgent phone call at 5pm on a Friday asking for our help in removing travellers from private land, it soon became clear that my film and takeaway would have to wait.
A Rapid Result
The client explained that they had just secured a Writ of Possession that same afternoon and wanted it to be enforced as soon as possible.
As Enforcement Operations Manager, planning our activity is an important part of my role, but sometimes time is not on our side and we need to think on our feet to get the job done. Due to the short timeframe, I dropped everything to look at our available resources and make a few calls before confirming to the client that we could take on the job.
I arranged for two of our agents local to the area to accompany me on the job and we arrived at the site in Lancashire at around 7pm. We were unsure whether the individuals involved would be cooperative or whether alcohol may have been consumed, so I also organised for the police to attend should we need backup.
The encampment consisted of several people along with motorhomes, caravans, and two dogs. We were able to remove everything and everyone quickly and, most importantly, safely in under two hours – a fantastic result for Wilson & Roe and for the client.
A spokesperson for the client commented: “It was impressive how quickly Wilson & Roe were able to accept urgent instructions, despite them arriving on a Friday evening. They were knowledgeable about the process and ensured that possession was delivered to the client safely and without incident, in advance of the weekend.”
Working in the enforcement industry couldn’t be further from a nine-to-five job, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
