Residential Enforcement to Recommence in England & Wales: Entry Permitted & Evictions Ban Lifted from 1st June

On the 1st of June 2021, the High Court Enforcement industry is set to make another positive step towards normality with the ban on residential evictions being lifted and Enforcement Agents being able to enter residential properties in England and Wales – while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.
In response to the improving public health situation, the government announced – after multiple extensions – the ban on bailiff-enforced evictions will end in May and their guidance asking Enforcement Agents not to enter residential properties to take control of goods will be withdrawn.
Sarah Roscoe, Managing Director said: “With the restrictions lifting, we are confident allowing our Agents to enter residential property to take control of goods will help aid in more successful outcomes when enforcing Writs of Control – resulting in better results for Claimants.
“This has also been a particularly difficult year for landlords with most of our clients unable to obtain possession due to the restrictions. Our great team of professional staff will be ready to assist and work rapidly around the clock to get through the industry-wide backlog of evictions and provide our clients with the results they deserve.”
