High Court Enforcement Officers Association Outlines Post Lockdown Plan

August 18, 2020

Today, Andrew Wilson has issued a reminder to members of the High Court Enforcement Officers Association, regarding our industry's COVID-19 Post Lockdown Plan.

This comes as we approach the return to a 'new normal' from next Monday, 24 August 2020, when we will restart enforcement visits at residential properties/addresses from this date.

The Plan sets out the principles, working practices and behaviours that all High Court Enforcement Officers and their representatives will abide by during this phased lifting of the lockdown period. It includes official guidance covering additional training that must be undertaken, data collection and recording, provision of PPE and notices of enforcement.

Andrew has said that the Association appreciates that many High Court Enforcement businesses and, in particular, self-employed Enforcement Agents, have suffered from the Taking Control of Goods restrictions during the past few months. He has also stressed that: "this does not mean that the return to enforcement at private residences should be approached in anything other than in a safe, calm and measured way."

This is reflected in the Plan’s title: A flexible and sympathetic approach to enforcement.

"Again, we would like to reassure both claimants and debtors that our team has taken all necessary steps to abide by these new rules and procedures, as well as current UK Government & Public Health England & Wales guidelines," says Andrew Wilson & Co Managing Director, Sarah Roscoe.
